Boo! We’re in the countdown to Halloween 2023! Today on Oct. 24, the big scare recommendation continues the “Scream Queen” genre of “slasher” films with “Terror Train” and Jamie Lee Curtis. Wow! Jamie Lee, a train and a slasher. It all fits!
“Terror Train” is one of three horror films to feature Jamie Lee in 1980 and it is better than either of the other two – although “Prom Night,” which I recommended yesterday, is a pretty solid contender. However, “Terror Train” is better executed than the other (no pun intended) and you’ll find it a marvelously entertaining horror flick.
The basic story line is that some college kids (what else, besides high school kids?) play a cruel, evil joke on a freshman. He goes bat-s*&t crazy. Jump forward to their senior year and you’ll find revenge is on the itinerary when the “Terror Train” leaves the station.
Although Jamie Lee is totally the best one in the cast of “Terror Train,” you get a wonderful performance from illusionist David Copperfield and just about the entire cast manages not to embarrass itself.
It won’t take you long to figure out what’s what on the “Terror Train,” but you need to watch it all for the full appreciation of the effort.
Gear up for “Terror Train” and you’ll enjoy this Halloween season even more than you thought you’d probably experience. Find “Terror Train” … enjoy it; I guarantee you will!
