At the University of Florida Gators baseball games, fans call opposing players and coaches by the generic moniker “Earl.” Well, I discovered Feb. 24, 2018, at the basketball game at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Fla., that the student fan section (they’re called the Rowdy Reptiles) uses “Earl” to taunt the opposing team. They did it against the visiting Auburn Tigers in an upset win!
