It was a great day in The Swamp at the University of Florida on Sept. 10, 2016, when I got this shot Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field. UF beat the University of Kentucky in football 45-7 for its 30th consecutive victory over the Wildcats. The facility was nicknamed “The Swamp” by former Head Coach Steve Spurrier in the 1990s during his hugely successful career. It was simply “Florida Field” from its opening in 1930 until 1989 when a big donor named Ben Hill Griffin Jr. got his name on it because of donations. It was just earlier this month re-christened Steve Spurrier-Florida Field in honor of Steve.
