Here’s a somewhat close-up view of a gondola on the Disney Skyliner system. It got the shot on Sept. 8, 2023, as we returned to Walt Disney World for a five-day stay. It was our first visit back since 2019. The gondolas on the Skyliner are colorful, but they do not have air conditioning. You can see the slats open on this gondola that provides fresh air to the occupants. The experience is normally exhilarating (but not fast) unless the Skyliner system slows with the boarding of passengers. Then, in heat such as we experienced, it can be a little warm inside. I took this shot during my first ride on the Skyliner system, having departed the depot adjacent to EPCOT. When we were last at WDW in September 2019, the Skyliner transportation system was in the final stage of construction. So, my first order of business at our recent visit was to ride the Skyliner. It took me from EPCOT near our rooms at the Disney’s Yacht Club Resort to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, where I debarked and caught a gondola back to EPCOT. I could have gone on to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but it was just a quick trip I wanted to take.
