Watch It! If you enjoy time-travel flicks, then “The Final Countdown” is one you might not have seen – because it is a military film. “The Final Countdown” sends a modern U.S. aircraft carrier (well, modern as of 1980) to the Pacific on the day before Pearl Harbor kicked off World War II for us in 1941. Of course, such a weapon could have easily destroyed the entire Japanese fleet and it prepared to attack Hawaii, but … well, you’ll have to find out what happened. “The Final Countdown” has some top-of-the-list stars, including Kirk Douglas, as well as B-listers who do a great job (try Martin Sheen, Katherine Ross and Ron O’Neal). “The Final Countdown” isn’t great or, maybe, it isn’t even good, but it is watchable and has creative elements. So … Watch It!
