Honoring the bravery from that fateful Dec. 7 at Pearl Harbor

Today is Dec. 7, 2018, and it was 77 years ago that the attack on the U.S. at Pearl Harbor brought our country into World War II. Trillions of words have been written about Pearl Harbor, but none will ever really capture the emotion of our nation on that day. Here’s a photo of the U.S. flag flying at half staff at the Collier County Public Library’s Headquarters branch here in Naples, Fla., on Dec. 2, 2018. It was flown that day in honor of former President George H.W. Bush, who died Nov. 30. However, flags are flown at half staff (or, half mast for ships at sea) in memory of Pear Harbor.
