We had a great breakfast (in exchange for a donation to the Boy Scouts) at the almost-open Metro Diner here in Naples on Jan. 28, 2016. Metro Diner is Allison’s favorite brunch spot in Gainesville, where’s she’s come to appreciate brunch as a student at the University of Florida, and the franchise is about to open here. Metro Diner had two days of free meals as training for staff this weekend (just a donation to a local charity – the second day was for the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens) and we were there! Here’s my order: Belgian waffle, side of Canadian bacon – you can’t see the country sausage side – and the homefries with “the works” including jalapenos.
