What’s holding up traffic in Labelle? A drawbridge!

Look in the distance. What do you see? It’s a drawbridge! I was driving through LaBelle in Hendry County on Nov. 20, 2021, when I got stalled in traffic during my trip. “What the heck is the holdup,” I asked myself. I soon saw it: A drawbridge over the Caloosahatchee River! It was a sport fishing boat that caused the bridge to go up and stop traffic. Still, the city and its rural culture is a sight for old Florida buildings and the courthouse even has a clock tower! Thank you again, Hendry County and LaBelle, for a memorable moment.
