My movie reviews: ‘Tin Cup’ stinks as a golf movie … sigh

My movie suggestion today is … to, well, maybe watch “Tin Cup.” Here’s Ron Shelton’s golf flick that was supposed to do for that sport what “Bull Durham” did in identifying baseball. Too bad. Shelton forced the golf mysticism too early and too hard in “Tin Cup” and left headliners Kevin Costner and Rene Russo without any lifejacket. “Tin Cup” isn’t a good movie. It tries. It tries too hard. It doesn’t define golf, but it is just a movie with golf in it. “Tin Cup” is watchable because of Cheech Marin and Don Johnson. But that’s about it. If you’re a golfer, you’ll watch “Tin Cup.” If not, then you might just want to take a pass …

So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
