My movie suggestion today is … to watch Humphrey Bogart in “The Caine Mutiny” from 1954. Here is the only Bogie film that I’ve seen in its entirety. “The Caine Mutiny” is set in World War II and examines the emotions of people and of war. “The Caine Mutiny” is total class from beginning to end and should have won acting Oscars for Bogie and Tom Tully in a supporting role. “The Caine Mutiny” was nominated for seven Oscars, including Best Picture, but had competition from a little film called “On the Waterfront.” That one won Best Picture Oscar and a guy named Marlon Brando won out over Bogie for Best Actor. Well, I’d give the nod to Bogie, but you can’t say Marlon shouldn’t have been in there!
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
