My movie suggestion for today is … to watch the Steve McQueen-Ali MacGraw classic from Sam Peckinpah: “The Getaway.” Don’t confuse the original with the crapfest “reboot” called “The Getaway” (I’m not giving you the link because it is so bad … and stars supreme dumbass Alec Baldwin). “The Getaway” is Peckinpah at his best – apologies to “The Wild Bunch.” “The Getaway” is McQueen at his best – apologies to “Bullitt;” and “The Getaway” is MacGraw at her best – apologies to “Love Story.” It’s the story of a convict who pulls a bank job in payment for parole and then the ensuing violence across the Southwestern U.S. “The Getaway” is worth every second of your time.
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
