My movie reviews A-Z: Today … ‘Porky’s’

My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “Porky’s.” Here’s the great, iconic raunchy teen comedy that helped stoke the fire for the genre in the 1980s. “Porky’s” has the trifecta of success in the genre: Comedy, no big stars and … nudity! “Porky’s” is totally puerile and wallows in the fact that it knows there are those who won’t laugh at the comedy, but relishes doing it anyway. “Porky’s” was a top-grossing film in 1982 and would have two less-successful sequels (the first a tepid effort; the second a putrid mess). Oh, yes … the success of “Porky’s” allowed director Bob Clark the financial power to get his studio to finally OK the film he always wanted to make: “A Christmas Story.” So, without “Porky’s,” there wouldn’t be “A Christmas Story.” “Porky’s” is easy to find, so go get it!

I’m posting all my film reviews in alphabetical order and I’ve updated links and more on many of the reviews. Below is the link back to the full review.
