Memorial Day 2018: Honoring the fallen through cinema

midwaybotb2I’m taking a break from the posting of my movie reviews in alphabetical order because today (May 28, 2018) is Memorial Day and I have posted links to war movies as a way to honor those who gave their lives so that our country can remain free.

So, here are links to war films that I’ve reviewed for my blog. The films are mostly serious films about war, but there are a few with a comedy component. However, by putting them all together under the “war” heading wasn’t intended to make light of the concept of war or making any light on this most serious of holidays.

I just enjoy war films and today’s a good day to highlight war in cinema. Click here to read the list of the battles in which the most Americans paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms today. I posted an image of the outstanding World War II film “Saving Private Ryan” but I haven’t reviewed it yet. Maybe I will …
