Click here to read my movie suggestion for today and it is … “Can’t Buy Me Love.” It’s a teen flick from the ’80s and, while not great cinema, it is watchable and won’t insult your intelligence (at least too much). “Can’t Buy Me Love” is the story of a boy who “rents” the coolest girl in school for a month. He figures (rightly at first) he’ll be accepted by the cool crowd if he’s hanging out with her. From there, well, things happen. I especially like “Can’t Buy Me Love” because the female lead was 15 during filming – and that’s three years younger than the character she was playing. “Can’t Buy Me Love” is one of the few “teen” films where the female lead isn’t in her mid- to late-20s.
So, I’m in the middle of doing a daily recommendation of a movie … and they’re all movies that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
