Click here to read my movie suggestion for today and it is … “Cross of Iron,” which is legendary director Sam Peckinpah’s only movie set during World War II. “Cross of Iron” is the story of a platoon of German soldiers on the Russian front as the Wehrmacht was in retreat. “Cross of Iron” is primarily the story of the platoon leader and his continual presence as an insubordinate irritation to some officers. “Cross of Iron” isn’t Peckenpah’s best (far from it), but it’s a good war movie.
So, I’m doing a daily recommendation of a movie … and they’re all movies that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
