Click here to read today’s movie suggestion and it is … the glacially-paced film: “Local Hero.” It’s the story about the purchase of an entire town in Scotland by an oil company, but it is more atmosphere than action. Actually, there’s virtually no action in “Local Hero” (save for a few scenes of a motorcycle passing close to a pedestrian). I initially described it as having a British film’s slow pace … and I haven’t changed my mind. Still, “Local Hero” is simply wonderful in its British way but certainly an acquired taste.
