Here’s another shot I got in 2007 of the stump of a 100-year-old Sycamore at St. Paul’s Chapel in New York City in 2007. St. Paul’s Chapel was used in the wake of the 9-11 terrorist attack on New York’s Twin Towers in 2001 by rescuers and emergency workers. The tree was destroyed when debris from the Twin Towers rained down on it. However, the chapel’s trees protected it and not one pane of glass was damaged. The stump commemorates the heroism in the tragedy of that day.
